Vida Digna lodges around 70 dogs in its shelter located in the Huachipa suburb of Lima. All our animals have been rescued from cruelty cases or picked up on the streets suffering total abandonment. Once with us, all dogs go through a quarantine period, where they are wormed, vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Alter that, they are put in one of our 12 spacious pens, according to their character. Once a week a licensed veterinarian visits the shelter and treats the dogs if necessary.
All our animals are up for adoption in homes which have previously been checked by one of our volunteers and certified as adequate. Three more visits are made throughout the first year to ensure the welfare of the dog in its new home.
